This program is designed to encourage children to become more active learners. Our educators will encourage the children to express their likes giving them the ability to guide their curriculum based on their own unique interests.
Through documentation of all the children’s daily work, parents will be able to see their child’s progress.
- Ratio is 1:5
- Toddler 2 Room; Age Group 24 months - 30 months
- Children will start to learn how to recognize words and be introduced to learning how to read.
- Children are also taught to express their feelings through words to help them evolve their social development skills
- Children are often referred to as ‘sponges’ and for this reason in the preschool programs we already slowly introduce French, math, science, music, art and much more
- Gardening will be a part of this curriculum as well. Children will learn all about planting and ultimately watching their garden grow. This activity is designed to encourage children to view fruits and vegetables as something they can enjoy eating.
- In this class we have incorporate the S.T.E.A.M program. This program is designed to teach children how to problem solve using multiple subjects.
- Our teaching method will be based off the most up to date methods in childhood education;
- Montessori Mathematics Teaching: This approach encourages children to identify numbers, introduce simple addition and subtraction equations, grouping, shapes, and much more with fun hands-on interactive objects. Montessori math materials help children approach math with hands-on, visual, and physical learning aids. These materials allow students to attach concrete knowledge to the often abstract concepts in math. As children progress through the Montessori math framework, the materials become more abstract, as students internalize more of the knowledge scaffolded by the materials.
- Reggio Emilia Approach is purely used for early childhood education. It is experienced-based, play-based, and child-led learning. Experience-based refers to a focus on creating experiences for students to learn through doing something active rather than learning through listening or watching. Play-based education means that the educational environment is staged to ensure children are exposed to a multitude of learning opportunities as they choose their own play activities. There is little structure or forced learning; just an encouragement to explore and play with all the available materials. Child-led learning is an important aspect of the Reggio Emilia Approach because in this approach, the child decides what to learn about, when to learn about it and for how long they'll focus on it. The approach believes that children choosing their own educational paths will remain actively engaged in the learning process longer than when they are forcibly guided to learn topics.
